Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well reviewed by various music websites. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Her name was also recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding a grand piano that was in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to use music for the sake of personal development, and not as a way of earning money or to pursue an interest. Thus, she began her own compositions. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she composed were not meant to be famous for her, rather to help people to see the value of themselves and their impact in our world at large, she began performing them publicly. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order so that people can see their importance and the ways they can affect the world. It was unknown to her family members until she turned fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. She just loves to write songs. According to her, she believes music can make people feel more relaxed.
